The Cover Story
Beautiful, historic, artistic and fun. These are the words that best describe Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia, which is nestled on the Mediterranean coast in Spain.
We were here for 3 days and had a lot, I mean a lot to pack in. Not only exploring the old town, the antique markets, food markets and arts and crafts of this beautiful city. But we were desperately seeking Gaudi and I wanted to take in his beautiful architecture which has made a mark on this city by the sea.
But first, a fancy dinner with 41 tasters and cocktails designed to dazzle and delight with magic, smoke, and fire! Here's your margarita sir as our waiter pointed towards a succulent bush. Yes, they had carefully crafted my cocktail as the leaves of the succulent to suck on!
Wowzers! What a way to spend your first night in preparation for the long hustle and bustle of the tourist days ahead.
La Sagrada Familia is simply breathtaking. Whilst still under construction it is un-worldly, as to are the other free-flowing organic forms within the Gaudi architecture dotting the city. Then up to Park Guell in the heat of the day to explore this cities hilly terrain. This is where I feel in love with the mosaic seating within the park. Taking 100's of photos and jostling between people trying to capture the essence of this work I captured this picture. These are a small section of the sprawling seating within. With added hints of burnt orange and broken pink florals, they make the perfect fit for your house by the sea.
